FAQs
Welcome to our FAQ guide on solar energy! With rising energy costs in Australia, solar is becoming a go-to solution for saving money and boosting sustainability. Here at Excel Solar, we’re dedicated to helping you find the best solar options for your needs. Let’s get started!
Is it possible to expand the size of my system in the future?
This is determined by the size of the inverter and the amount of space available on your roof. You could expand the size of your system if you have enough roof space and more inverter capacity. You might also install a second system on your roof. Please note that at this moment, each state's solar Feed-in Tariffs impose size restrictions on the systems that qualify. Increases in the size of an existing solar power installation may influence your Feed-in Tariff eligibility. For more information, please contact us.
How does solar work?
Solar panels capture sunlight and convert it into direct current (DC) electricity. An inverter then transforms the DC into alternating current (AC) electricity, which powers your home. Any excess energy can be stored in batteries or sent back to the grid, helping you save even more on your energy bills.
Why should I get solar?
Solar energy is a smart investment which can significantly reduce or eliminate your electricity bills – better yet, it could make you money selling excess power back to the grid. It also gives you more control over your future power needs and potential power cost increases. With Excel Solar Energy’s tailored solutions, you can also take advantage of generous government rebates and enjoy a system that pays for itself through energy savings. Plus, it’s an easy, no-brainer way to do something positive for the environment – you’re contributing to a more sustainable and stable energy grid.
What is the process to get solar?
Getting solar with Excel solar is a breeze. First, we assess your energy needs, roof position, and financial goals. Then, we customise a solar solution for you, help you access rebates and finance, and schedule the installation. Our CEC accredited installers complete the job, and our customer support ensures you get the most from your new system.
What happens to excess energy generated?
Excess energy can either be stored in a solar battery for later use or fed back into the electricity grid. This not only earns you credits on your electricity bill but also contributes to a greener, more sustainable energy system.
Is there a limit for how much power I can sell to the grid?
There are often limits applied by the energy distributor on what a single system can export however the amount will vary depending on if you have single phase or 3 phase supply. Different distributors will also allow different amounts. Excel Solar can guide you through the specifics, ensuring you maximise your returns and get a system size which makes sense for your energy usage and any export limits.
